The Library of Birmingham

Having been awarded the signage contract for the new £189m Library of Birmingham by Capita Symonds and Carillion, Cobal worked closely with the architects, Mechanoo, to develop the scheme and produce signage to enhance the visitor experience to an extraordinary building. The package comprised over 7,000 signs including 2m high, four-sided ?path finders', suspended directional signs, manifestations, wall graphics and shelf dividers.

The Library, now the largest in Europe, was officially opened by Malala Yousafzai and received over 14,000 visitors on the opening day.
